A Look Back...
ABC Countdown
The highlight of the week was definitely U are Moving Up Day! Students were able to visit their grade level up classrooms to speak to those teachers and students about what's to come.
U are Moving Up Day included a visit from Willow Grove incoming first grade students, who enjoyed an activity at each of their specials classrooms, visited a first grade classroom, and learned our Cougar Pride "Show 5" song from Mr. Tatar and our current first grade students. Thank you to the teachers and office staff for the planning and preparation that went into making this visit so much fun for our mini-Cougars.
5th grade students also visited Woodlawn Middle School and celebrated their years at Kildeer with 5th Grade Transition Day activities. This included watching a slideshow of baby photos and memorable moments that all children received as a memory, a special snack and lunch, yearbook signing, and the Wheel of Wisdom Cultural Arts assembly just for them! What a special day our PTO gave to our 5th graders. Thank you for all of your hard work. Watching the students enjoy this day was such a treat!
A Message from Your Student Council
" One man's trash is another man's treasure."
All over the world, children and adults who have no shoes on their feet may have received your old pair of shoes that you donated to Soles 4 Souls.
Soles 4 Soles is an organization that donates unwanted shoes to those who don't have any shoes around the globe. Some of those children have never had shoes before and now you have given them the opportunity. Just picture the smiles on their faces as they are given a pair of shoes. Everyone at Kildeer Countryside School pitched in and donated sneakers, dress shoes, flip flops, boots, and even slippers from their closets. We collect 500 pairs of shoes. WOW! Thank you Kildeer students, families, and teachers who generously donated to help this cause and helped "changing the world, one pair at a time."

Family Picnic
Thank you to all of you who came out to celebrate the end of our year at our Family Picnic. We were so lucky as we caught the final hours of decent weather for the week. We celebrated with good friends, games, blow up bouncers, cotton candy, snow cones, music, and so much more! Our first graders were absolutely precious as they wrapped up our 2011/12 concert series.

A Note to the PTO:
Thank you to the PTO for ending our school year on such a fun note and for your work all school year! Your support and hard work never cease to amaze me by what you provide our students and families through the countless fun activities and events, as well as the resources you provide our school through your service.
With deep gratitude and appreciation from all of us at Kildeer School!
A Look Ahead...
Planning for Next School Year
The end of the school year always marks a transition for some teachers. First grade teachers, Ms. Fryer and Mrs. Moore, will be retiring at the end of the year. Both teachers will be dearly missed! We thank these exceptional educators for their many years of service and their dedication to children, education, and our school and district.

We thank these exceptional educators for their many years of service and their dedication to children, education, and our school and district.
In addition to our retirees, we also have a few wonderful individuals who will be leaving Kildeer to move into different positions within District 96. Kristina Krueger, Special Education Teacher, will be moving to Prairie Elementary School. She'll be providing her expertise and knowledge around supporting best practices and strategies for learners in the manner she does at Kildeer. Miss Krueger has been a wonderful leader within her field at Kildeer and I know she'll continue in this manner at Prairie by supporting students to succeed and being an outstanding team member. Vail Kieser, Third Grade Teacher, will be moving into a different role, also at Prairie Elementary School. She'll be joining their staff to support teachers in a technology coaching role, integrating best practices of teaching and learning with technology. I know Mrs. Kieser will be valued for the expertise she will lend teachers to support them in their work to help all children reach their maximum potential. Gail Gioviano, one of our cherished office staff members, will be moving to Ivy Hall. Just as she has brightened all of your entrances into our school and each one of our days, she'll spread her cheer and warmth on Ivy Hall Lane. We will miss each of these individuals very much, but know they will continue to share their gifts across District 96!
Thank you for your continued support of the entire staff. We are so happy to be able to impact all learners with our talented teachers and staff.
