Our first graders had an exciting event this week with a visit from High Tech-High Touch. Children were highly engaged through activities that provided discovery style learning opportunities and inquiry based dialogue. Take a look at the pictures below to see some of the fun!

This week the full school practiced our Lockdown procedure in collaboration with Officer Kupsak from the Buffalo Grove Police Department. The students and staff did an outstanding job with this and took the exercise very seriously. We'll do another lockdown drill in the spring.
Cougar Pride!
On Tuesday of next week we have another Cougar Pride assembly. Children are encouraged to wear BLUE & GOLD or spirit wear! We look forward to these assemblies to recognize the students for their tremendous work and reinforce our Cougar FIVE! So many students earned Cougar Paw's these last couple of weeks. Watching them beam from ear to ear when they receive a Paw is a special part of every day. The kids at Kildeer blow me away with their kindness and positive choices. We are thrilled to recognize them for this work!

Halloween Reminder

Common Core & Standards Based Report Card

Reading Resource
Your child has a wonderful world of books to access online from home through Tumblebooks and Tumble Readables! Ask your child about Tumblebooks and Readables. This is something all students have learned about through their iLab time. Our Kildeer Website provides links under Student Resources>iLab to directions with username and password information and the Tumble sights. Here are the shortcuts for you:

The iLab link also is the route for RAZ, which is a program that we ask kids to access from school only. This is a program that is monitored through iLab with classroom teachers. It's another source for online reading, but is closely monitored at school to align with individual student reading progress.
