Parent/Teacher Conferences
Thanks to all who were able to attend conferences.  I hope that  you were delighted with your student's progress and found this to be an informative meeting between you and the teacher.  As always, please contact me if you have questions or comments.

Keepin' Up With Kildeer!
Calling all 5th grade parents! Our next Keepin' Up With Kildeer meeting provides you with an opportunity to meet the Woodlawn administrators, Principal Greg Grana and Assistant Principal Chris Murphy, and ask them any questions you may have about the transition to middle school. Join us for this informal conversation on April 13th from 9:30-10:30 at Kildeer. To help us prepare for the right space for the event, give us a call or email ggioviano@kcsd96.org to R.S.V.P.

Incoming 6th Grade Parents (Current 5th Grade)
  • 6th grade Parent Orientation Evening ~ Woodlawn Middle School on Monday, April 23rd, at 7:00 p.m. 
  • Join Woodlawn Principal Greg Grana, Assistant Principal Chris Murphy, and me at our next Keepin' Up With Kildeer parent/Principal meeting to have an opportunity to ask questions and have an informal conversation around the transition to middle school. This is on April 13th from 9:30-10:30 at Kildeer.

Class List Process
If you didn't catch it, the March 16th message to learn about the class list process that we take very seriously at Kildeer. I welcome any insight you wish to share about your child’s strengths, needs, and learning style. I will take into consideration pertinent information about your child’s learning style and needs, received on or before FRIDAY, APRIL 27th, 2012. While we welcome your input, specific teacher requests will not be honored.  Please put your thoughts in writing and address them to me (Jenny Smith) either via hard copy letter or email jsmith@kcsd96.org.

Student Dress Code
As the weather warms up, please remember appropriate school dress as outlined in our Student Handbook:
4.12-e Standards for Student Dress. Students who are appropriately and comfortably dressed are able to focus on schoolwork more effectively. The following guidelines are enforced.   Cooperation by parents is appreciated.
1. Dress or appearance that provokes or distracts other students or otherwise causes a disruption to the educational process is prohibited.
2. Shoes must be worn at all times.
3. Clothing, jewelry, or accessories may not have writing or pictures 
that advertise or advocate alcohol, drugs, tobacco, obscenity, violence, or gang activity.
4. Pants must be worn at the waistline.
5. Hats are allowed on designated hat days only.
6. Half shirts, cropped tops, spaghetti straps, and underwear or 
sleepwear worn as outerwear are not acceptable.
7. Undergarments should not be visible.
8. With the exception of appropriate jewelry, no chains should be 
worn.
Students who are in violation of the policy and rules of student dress code will be asked to comply with the rules by either changing to other attire that is available at school, or by having parents bring different clothes from home.
